When we lived in Colorado, many off-road trips in the mountains took us to a ghost town. Mining towns were everywhere and as mining fell off throughout history, the buildings remain, the remnants of equipment that no longer serves its purpose are scattered over acres of property. The grass grows up through the holes and the flowers continue to bloom long after the mining has stopped.
